Scholarship Opportunities

The links below provide specific information about local scholarships available to Spring Grove students The deadline for local scholarships is the Friday before the Senior Class Trip. (Please note that some scholarships have different deadlines which are listed below.) Students should turn in completed application to the counseling office, unless otherwise stated.

Arlin Falck Scholarship (Business)
Carlton Kroshus (Students must be in top 25% of class)
Charles & Audrey Ellingson (3 awards to 4 year students / 2 awards to 2 year-Technical students)
Gaylord Halverson Memorial (Must attend a 2 year / technical school)
Grady's Superhero Scholarship ($1500 award to 1 graduating senior. This student does NOT need to be entering post-secondary school.)
Helgerson Family Education Scholarship (plan to pursue an education career)
Legion Post #249 (child or grandchild of a member of Post #249 or member of Boys/Girls state)
Milton and Audrey Luidahl Scholarship (Senior with the highest-grade point average that is planning a degree in education.)
Merchant's Bank (Giving back through public service)
Norman Lloyd Ellingson LGBT (Member of LGBT community or supportive of LGBT measures)
Run From The Sun (Effect sun exposure has on you and what you will do to prevent skin cancer)
Schmidt (Students with dream, passion, vision and talents)
SGEA / Henry Evenmoe (4 year, priority for human service career goal)
SGHS STEM Scholarship (pursuing a STEM related career)
Spencer Olson / Gary Strinmoen Memorial Scholarship (how athletics have impacted you)
Sundet Foundation (essay and follow up interview)
Trinity Lutheran Church (must be a member of the congregation)
Warren Johnson (proud of community service / volunteerism)

MCIS Scholarships (requires login - located under EDUCATION tab)
February 28: Farmers Win Coop Ag Scholarship (Ag related higher education)
March 3: Mi Energy (demonstrate cooperative spirit through service to others)
March 15 - POET Biorefining (leadership and making a positive impact in the world)
March 15: MN American Legion Foundation Scholarship ($500 - must be a descendant of a Veteran member of the American Legion/American Legion Auxiliary Member)
March 31: The Sustainable Agriculture & Forestry Scholarship ($5000 scholarship to SE MN student who has demonstrated leadership and communication skills, and is interested in pursuing a career in sustainable agriculture and/or forestry)
April 2: CPL Curtis M Swenson Memorial Scholarship 2025 ($1500 scholarship; 1-2 page paper on your families military history and the impact it has had on your life)
April 25: Bluff Country Hidden Heroes 2025 Scholarship (pursuing degree in Law Enforcement, EMS, Firefighting, Human Servies, or other fields of Public Service)
May 1: Houston County Cattlemen Scholarship Application (open to high school seniors planning to attend a two-or four-year college. Write 200 word essay on topic of interest relevant to the beef industry)
